What are "Biometrics"?
Biometrics
are automated methods of identifying a person or
verifying the identity of a person based on a
physiological or behavioral characteristic.
Examples of physiological characteristics include
hand or finger images, facial characteristics,
speaker verification, and iris recognition. Biometrics are technologies for highly
secure personal authentication.

What does the
"ParoleTRAXtm"
do?
It uses voice
verification technology in conjunction with standard
telephone networks to track individuals anywhere in
the United States and Canada. The clients have to call
in based on a predetermined schedule from the
appropriate location. The clients may also receive
random pages or calls that they would have to respond
to within a limited time from the correct location.
The system notifies the case officers of a failure
within 2 minutes using pagers, cell phones or emails.
It also provides the officers with the capability to
leave personal voice messages for their clients.
What do I use it for?
The ParoleTRAXtm
system may be used as a case management tools by
officers as well as court-sanctioned means to track
individuals. This can apply to juveniles on curfew
and adults that are on early release, furloughs,
parole and probation programs. The system has also
been used for mandatory monitoring of DUI offenders
and habitual sex offenders.
What is required?
No equipment is
required. The clients use standard phones for
the verification and location process. Any
pagers used are provided at no additional cost.
The case officers are required to have access to
the Internet so they can access the system
through a secure web-based interface. There are
no capital costs associated with the system.
